Highly Commended for the Sussex Heritage Trust 2025 Small Scale Residential: Restoration, Conversion & Extension Award

Located in the historic market town of Arundel, we had the honour of working on this project for Martin Sewell Building Company whilst working closely with Karen Campbell on the design of the interior cabinetry throughout this sensitive restoration project.

Spread over four floors we created cabinetry throughout the home including a bespoke shaker style kitchen, utility cabinetry, drinks cabinet and banquette seating on the ground floor; bootroom cabinetry, bookcases and a window seat on the first floor; a wardrobe and cabinetry for a study on the second floor and fitted wardrobes and a bespoke vanity unit for the third floor.

The cabinetry was designed in a shaker style throughout, with the exception of the study where we took a more contemporary approach, to compliment the bones of this Grade II listed building and the finished designs were hand painted in a collection of heritage colours and fitted with antique brass ironmongery.

Each room came with its own challenges, which it so often does with older properties, working around period features, listed building regulations and the general quirks of a period home. Working alongside Karen, whose vision for the cabinetry we bought to life, we made considered decisions to the designs to balance both the style and functionality.

The project has been Highly Commended for the Sussex Heritage Trust 2025 Small Scale Residential: Restoration, Conversion & Extension Award – it’s wonderful to be recognised within this project alongside the many skilled contractors we worked alongside.
